On Wednesday 3 June to Thursday 4 June, IWSSN attended in the inaugural Global Irish Civic Forum, hosted in Dublin. The Forum, opened by Mr Jimmy Deenihan TD, Minister for Diaspora Affairs, brought together organisations and groups from across the world that support the Irish community abroad.
The two-day event provided an opportunity for organisations to network, make connections and hear about the inspiring work taking place to ensure that Irish community, culture and identity thrives, no matter where the diaspora are living.
IWSSN was proud to have attended the Forum, to have the honour to meet the Irish President, Michael D. Higgins at a reception at Aras an Uachtarain and to have the opportunity to represent UK-based Survivors at this important and historic event.
