On Saturday, 21st of November, staff from the Whispering Hope Centre attended a promotional event hosted by Caranua.
The staff team at the Whispering Hope Centre were pleased to attend an information and promotional event hosted by Caranua in Central London, which aimed to inform more Survivors about the fund and how to make applications. We were present to promote how we as an organisation can support Survivors of Irish institutional care across the country.
The event was very much a success, with over 60 Survivors in attendance. We were pleased to have met some new Survivors, to explain in more detail about how we can offer our support, and it was wonderful to see familiar faces of clients we are currently assisting.
We just wanted to take this opportunity to remind Survivors that Caranua is still open for applications – Survivors who received an award from the Redress Board or a Court are eligible to apply, and can receive financial support for approved services in the areas of health, housing or education.
If you would like to find out more about Caranua, and how Whispering Hope staff can help with an application, please feel free to call 0207 267 997. In addition to our London office, we have an advice worker based in Manchester who supports Survivors in the North-West of the UK. Please do call the London office in the first instance though.
